 Indo-Malaysian Palm Oil Conference ‘08 held in Mumbai

03/04/2008 (The Financial Express), Mumbai - Malaysia India POTS 2008, the 1st International trade fair and seminar on palm oil and conversion industry in India, will be organised by Malaysia Palm Oil Council (MPOC) on May 29 and 30, 2008 in Mumbai.


Malaysia-India POTS 2008 will be a comprehensive platform for manufacturers, importers, logistics, surveyors, bankers, machinery suppliers, packers, chemicals & other raw material suppliers, institutional users like snack food, fast food, ready to eat food, retailers, distributors, and end consumers to keep pace with the phenomenal advances taking place in the palm oil industry.


India is the major importer of palm oil products from Malaysia. Total number of registered participants is expected around 300 inclusive of participants from Malaysia and India.


Indian food processing industry holds a promise for a speedy growth. In recent years, there been a marked shift among consumers for packaged food items in India. Hence there is a vast untapped potential in this sector.


This seminar is the brainchild of Tan Sri Dr Yusof Basiron, CEO of MPOC. After the maiden edition held in Kuala Lumpur in 2006, it has been followed up by a series of similar events organized in China, Pakistan, UAE and Africa.
