Ghana eyes Malaysian oil palm cultivation model

11/01/2018 (Journalducameroun.com - English - (press release)) - Ghanaian President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has announced that the country intends to understudy Malaysia in a bid to revamp its oil palm industry. He noted that the Asian country received its first oil palm seedling from Ghana, but was now producing  the greatest amount of oil palm in the world while Ghana was struggling to produce a few tonnes.

He has therefore tasked Ghana’s High Commissioner to Malaysia, Mrs. Akua Sakyiwaah Ahenkorah, to utilise her experience and expertise to court the country to facilitate exchange and transfer of knowledge in oil palm production between the two countries.

In an address to present letters of credence to the career diplomat in Accra on Wednesday, President Akufo-Addo expressed confidence in Mrs. Ahenkorah to discharge her duties diligently to promote good economic and political relations between the two countries.
